John Bull and Marlborough Tatton
On the north wall of St Margaret's Church Westminster is a marble cartouche to John Bull, an eminent rich merchant (according to his entry in the register), and his grandson Marlborough Tatton, both of whom lie buried nearby. The coat of arms shows three bulls heads with a winged bull crest. The inscription reads:
Here lyes the body of John Bull of ye Isle of Wight, in the county of Southampton, Esqr. [Esquire] who lived 55 years a very eminent and worthy merchant of ye City of London and dyed ye 28 of August 1715 aged 85 years. Here also lyes his grandson Marlborough Tatton, only son to the Honourable Major General William Tatton by Elizabeth his wife, and daughter to the said John Bull, who died the 21 of October 1714 in the 6th year of his age
